This
lecture was started in 2003 to honor the contributions of George
M. McCluskey, Jr. to the advancement of knowledge in the rehabilitation
profession. The lecture is given annually and sponsored by HPRC
and the McCluskey Education & Research Foundation, Inc.
George M. McCluskey, Jr., PT, L.A.T. is the
founder of HPRC and the McCluskey Education & Research Foundation,
Inc. He started his physical therapy practice in Columbus, Georgia,
in 1955. Today, that privately owned company provides services
in Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina. Mr. McCluskey founded
his company with one idea in mind: to rebuild the body’s
functional capability – to improve life, one patient at
a time. Under Mr. McCluskey’s leadership the company was
the recipient of the 1995 Practice Award from the Private Practice
Section of the American Physical Therapy Association, and was
named the Georgia Family Business of the Year in 1998. The National
